Cloud and platforms

Selecting, implementing and connecting the platforms your organisation runs on: CRM, ERP, customer and product data, digital assets, digital experience, and service and work management.

Overview

Business platforms that work together

Most organisations now run their operations on several cloud platforms: a CRM for customers, an ERP for finance and stock, a PIM and a DAM for product content, a service desk, a work management tool and a website platform. Each is usually chosen and implemented on its own, by its own team or partner. The problems show up between them: customer details re-keyed from one system to the next, product data maintained twice, and reports that don't agree.

Great Minds is a Sydney-based systems integrator: the integrator for the gaps between platforms. We select, implement and migrate each platform, and we design how they share data from the start, with an agreed owner for customers, products, orders and assets, so a new platform doesn't become another island.

Great Minds is an Atlassian Silver Solution Partner, with Atlassian's Cloud Migration Delivery and Service Management Sales accreditations, and a Klaviyo Gold Advisor. We also deliver and connect Salesforce, Microsoft Dynamics 365, Adobe Experience Cloud, Akeneo, Bynder and Shopify Plus. Each platform area below has its own page.

Platform services

Eight platform areas, each with what's included, how we deliver it and the Australian rules that apply. Most programs touch two or three, which is why we design the connections between them as part of the work.

How we deliver

How we approach a platform program

01Map processes and systems

Before choosing anything, we map the processes the platform must support and every system it must connect to, with an owner for each.

02Choose on your scenarios

Shortlists, scripted demonstrations using your own scenarios and a five-year cost comparison, rather than feature checklists.

03Implement and connect

Configuration, data migration and integrations built together, so the platform is connected on day one. AI agents do much of the repetitive build and mapping work; our consultants own the design and sign off every change.

04Hand over or support

Training, documentation and hypercare, then managed support from us or a clean hand-over to your team.

Australian considerations

What to check for any platform in Australia

Hosting differs by platform, product and plan. Some platforms offer Australian hosting regions, some keep supporting services or AI processing elsewhere, and some host offshore. Under APP 8 of the Privacy Act you need to take reasonable steps to protect personal information before it's disclosed overseas, so confirm the hosting region for every platform and add-on in the contract. Each platform page notes what applies to that platform.

For APRA-regulated entities, a SaaS platform that supports a critical operation may be a material service provider under CPS 230, with the contract, risk assessment and register requirements that brings, and its security controls fall within CPS 234.

Costs are easier to compare in Australian dollars. Microsoft publishes Australian-dollar list prices for Dynamics 365, and Great Minds invoices Atlassian licences in AUD; our guide to Atlassian licensing in Australia explains how that works.

FAQ

Platform questions

Should we buy one vendor's suite or choose best-of-breed platforms?

A suite reduces the number of integrations and vendors to manage; best-of-breed platforms fit each team's needs more closely. Most organisations end up with a mix. The deciding question is usually how much integration you're prepared to own, which is why we design integration alongside platform choice rather than after it.

Which platform should own our customer and product data?

Usually the CRM owns customer relationships, the ERP owns billing and stock, the PIM owns product content and the DAM owns media. What matters is that each field has one owner and the integrations respect it. Our single customer view and data integration work sets this out.

Can you take over a platform another partner implemented?

Yes. We start with a review of the configuration, customisations, integrations and documentation, then agree what to keep, fix or retire before taking on support or new work.

How do you connect platforms to each other?

With each platform's own APIs and connectors where they fit, an integration platform such as n8n where it helps, and custom code where neither will do. Our Integration Hub has the patterns we start from.

Do you resell platform licences?

For Atlassian, yes: Great Minds supplies Atlassian Cloud licences invoiced in Australian dollars. For other platforms we work with the licensing arrangement you have, and help you size licences to what you actually use.
