Overview
Adobe integration: connecting Experience Cloud to the rest of your stack
Adobe Experience Cloud products rarely work alone. AEM Sites needs product data from a PIM or commerce platform. Marketo Engage needs leads and opportunities from the CRM. Workfront has to hand finished creative to the DAM, and website forms have to reach sales. When those connections are manual, content goes out of date and teams key the same data into several systems.
Great Minds is a Sydney-based systems integrator, founded in 2009, positioned as the integrator for the gaps between your platforms. We have delivery experience across Adobe, Salesforce, Microsoft Dynamics 365, Atlassian and Klaviyo, so we design Adobe integrations knowing how both ends work. We use Adobe's own extension points where they fit: AEM's GraphQL API for structured content, Adobe I/O Events so other systems can react when something changes in AEM, and Adobe App Builder to run custom integration code on Adobe's infrastructure. Where you already have an integration platform, such as MuleSoft, Azure Integration Services or n8n, we build on it rather than adding another.
The usual starting point is one connection: the integration that causes the most re-keying today. We build it, run it in production, then extend. AI agents running on Claude and OpenAI models do repetitive mapping, transformation and test work; our senior consultants own the design and are accountable for the result.
Capabilities
The Adobe integrations we build most often
Each integration starts with a map of which system owns which data: customers in the CRM, products in the PIM or ERP, assets in the DAM, and content in AEM. Data flows follow from that ownership, so every record has one source of truth.
01Salesforce and CRM integrationMarketo Engage synced with Salesforce or Dynamics 365 so leads, campaign responses and opportunities match in both, AEM forms that create CRM leads directly, and CRM segments that drive personalised content.
02Commerce platform integrationAEM content alongside product data from Adobe Commerce, Shopify Plus or Salesforce Commerce Cloud, so product pages, campaigns and stories share one content source while prices and stock stay current.
03PIM, DAM, and ERP integrationProduct data from a PIM such as Akeneo or from your ERP, assets from AEM Assets or Bynder, and Workfront approvals feeding the DAM, so the right asset and product data reach every channel.
04Headless and API-first architecturesContent Fragments delivered over AEM's GraphQL API, Adobe I/O Events to trigger updates when content changes, and App Builder or your own middleware for business logic, so new channels reuse the same content. How we deliver
An Adobe integration, from data map to production
Which system owns each record and field, what moves where, how often and in what volume, and what should happen when a call fails. We draw this before choosing tools.
Direct API calls for simple, low-volume flows; events for changes other systems must react to; middleware where several systems are involved or you need queuing, retries and audit logs. We use the platform you already run where we can.
Field mappings, transformations and error handling, tested against real records, including the awkward ones. AI agents generate mappings and test cases; consultants review them and approve every release.
Monitoring, alerts and a searchable log for each flow, plus runbooks and documentation. We can support the integrations after go-live or hand them to your team.
Australian considerations
Data, privacy and resilience checks
Integrations move personal information between systems, so the Privacy Act applies to every flow, not just to each platform. We document what each integration carries, where it's processed and logged, and who can see it, and we avoid copying personal information into systems that don't need it.
If you're APRA-regulated, integrations that support critical operations sit within CPS 230 operational risk management, and the data they move within CPS 234 information security. Each system's hosting region also matters: data can leave Australia through middleware or logging even when the main platforms are hosted locally. We check this as part of the design.
FAQ
Adobe integration questions
Which Adobe products can you integrate?
Adobe Experience Manager Sites and Assets, Marketo Engage, Workfront and Adobe Commerce, connected to each other and to CRM, ERP, PIM, DAM and data platforms. See our pages on AEM Sites, AEM Assets, Marketo Engage and Workfront.
Can Marketo Engage sync with Salesforce and Microsoft Dynamics 365?
Yes. Marketo Engage has native connectors for Salesforce and Microsoft Dynamics. The details differ: with Dynamics, for example, lead sync runs both ways but account sync runs one way, from Dynamics to Marketo. We plan the field list with your CRM admin, marketing and sales teams before the first sync, because it's easier to add fields later than to remove ones synced by mistake.
Do we need middleware, or can AEM connect directly?
Simple, low-volume flows can call APIs directly, such as a form posting a lead to the CRM. Once several systems are involved, or you need queuing, retries, monitoring and audit logs, a middleware layer is easier to run and support. We use what you already have, or Adobe App Builder for logic that belongs close to Adobe.
How do you keep product data consistent between AEM and commerce?
We decide which system owns each attribute, usually the PIM or ERP for product data and AEM for marketing content, and sync one way from the owner so two systems never overwrite each other. Our article on agentic AI in PIM integration covers how AI agents help with mapping and enrichment.
What happens when an integration fails?
Every flow we build has retries, alerts and a log you can search, so failures are found quickly and records aren't silently lost. We agree with you who is alerted and what the fallback is before go-live.
Where do we start?
With one connection: the flow that causes the most manual work today. We build it, run it in production and extend from there. Our systems integration page explains the approach.
Connected platforms
Integrated Adobe solutions built to connect with your full enterprise ecosystem
We deliver on several platforms, not only Adobe, so we design Adobe integrations knowing how the other side works.
Common pairings are AEM with Salesforce or Dynamics 365, AEM Sites with Bynder, and Adobe content with Akeneo PIM. For workflow automation between systems we also use n8n.
People
Integration architects and platform consultants
Senior consultants design each integration and stay accountable for it, working with your marketing, product and IT teams. AI agents speed up the repetitive mapping, testing and documentation; people make the design decisions and sign off releases.
Case studies
Integration work across Adobe, CRM and asset management
Two examples: Marketo and Salesforce connected into one marketing automation engine for Montgomery Investment Management's fund launch, and a digital asset management programme for a retailer in more than 20 countries that migrated 300,000 creative assets and connected them to ecommerce and campaign tools.
